The Mighty Maulers Stockcar team takes to the track on Saturday night against the Orange Roughies and Gisborne Gladiators in a tri-series that will guarantee some steel bending action. With the Peter Barry Memorial Teams just 2 weeks away it's a chance for the current champions Maulers to have some valuable teams practice.
One of the highlights of the meeting will most certainly be the Hawkes Bay Saloon Championship and with last years winner Kevin Martin currently not racing the title is there for the taking. At the time of going to print we have a near 20 car field, and if it's anything like the recent East Coast Championship it will be two cars wide, flat out racing.
28 Cars will be on track for the always popular Demolition Derby and the winner will pick up a crisp $500. The mid-meeting $100 to the winner of the Streetcar race gives the fans a chance to see the Derby Cars before they get crashed, bashed and smashed.
Superstocks, Streetstocks and Production Saloons will be on the programme, and we know how much the Streetstock drivers like to mix it up on the track.
Racing starts at 5pm, admission prices are Adults $25, Children $10 and Family $60.
