Meeanee Speedway will erupt to the sound of 40 plus cars this weekend in the BJ's Bakery Superstock Autumn Nationals. The lineup of talent makes it impossible to predict a champion and qualifying will be fiercely contested just to make the finals.
Almost every track in the North Island has been represented, including two heavy hitters from the South in 557c Darrel Wallace and 971c Jayden Ward. Meeanee has a strong 14-car representation including current 2nz Jason Long, Hawkes Bay Champ 98b Quintin Butcher, East Coast winner 25b Kairyn O'Brien and young rookie upstart 98b Jacob Buckrell. Debuting in a Superstock will be former top Stockcar driver 12b Regan Penn.
46w Ethan Levien and Brother 5w Keegan will surely have a say in the outcome as will 52p Scotty and 62p Adam Joblin. 4k Chad Ace has been quick around the tracks this season, but the lineup is also filled with drivers who specialize in taking out the contenders such as 29b Matt Demanser, 133s Tyler Walker and 118r Bryce Steiner.
The cooler air of the later season has meant Meeanee has been fast, offering grip up high on the racetrack with low 17.3 second laptimes at the last meeting. A full grid of Superstocks produce a sound like no other and the push into turn 1 is going to be critical for those off the front grids. Can local drivers keep the title firmly locked in the trophy cabinet, or will an out of towner take the silverware?
There will also be full grids for the Penn Masonry Youth Ministock Challenge, where Boys and Girls will be racing for two separate championships on the night. The kids never disappoint and their close racing can be a show stealer.
Saloons/Super Saloons are racing in a combined field and after last meetings incredible two-wide racing, the tin tops will no doubt impress again, as will the Sidecars. Can 26b Justin Lincoln and Dean Harding win three from three like their last meeting? TQ Midgets will also be duelling wheel-to-wheel, and this season the class has produced some incredible action.
It's almost season's end so you don't want to miss this one race fans. 4PM START TIME
