The East Coast Champs are an Easter tradition at Meeanee, and this weekend we’re sticking to tradition with two egg-cellent nights of speedway racing!
Good Friday will be more like Awesome Friday with the Super Saloons, which were absent last Easter, cranking up the high octane horsepower rush for the fans.
Plus, for the first time in a few seasons, the Ministocks will be battling it out for a spot on the podium. With plenty of talent among our huge field of drivers, choosing a winner will be harder to pick than a broken nose (or harder to pick than the fruit from
a hot cross bun?).
Also running their East Coast Champs on Friday night will be the Production Saloons, bringing both front-wheel and rear-wheel drive street car racing to the dirt track.
There’s almost 30 TQ Midgets registered to entertain you over both nights, with six races total including a 20-lap race on Saturday night not to be missed - these will be fast! Can we keep the trophies south of the Bombay’s this year?
Things will no doubt get loose with the Sidecars challenging for the Hawkes Bay Champs on Friday night, then returning on Saturday to do it all again for the East Coast title. With 15 bikes taking part, this will be sensational edge of your seat entertainment for all.
Saturday’s unmissable racing includes night two of the Stockcars six heats, with plenty of hard hitting metal grinding action. Can Saloon 7b Shane Laking defend last year’s title, or will 21h Steve Williams get a glimpse of the golden egg?
Superstocks will also be in action for their East Coast title on Saturday. Hawkeyes fans get there early to witness the official unveiling of the Hawkes Bay Hawkeyes team design with this year’s merchandise available for purchase.
All of your favourite food vendors are on site for your convenience, with plenty of hot food and drinks to hit the spot.
Racing starts at 5pm, admission prices are Adults $25, Children $10 and Family $60.
Next meeting is on April 30, Demolition Derby entry forms are available at the Office.
