Yet another good turnout from the TQ’s with 7 out of town cars making the trip down. Race one was always going to be a fast race with all the quick cars off the front. Race 2 was a different story with a few messy starts as the faster cars moved through the pack. The Feature race saw the 71A of Kaleb Currie Top Point Score and Choose to set the pace. 17G Dylan McGregor took the lead with Currie chasing him last corner saw Currie have a shot but wasn’t quite enough to get the win over Dylan McGregor.

Report by Barry
Superstocks featured two Teams races against the Wellington Wildcats – one scheduled, and one replacing the previous weekend’s rain-out meeting at Te Marua. Plus two All-in races.
The first Teams race was a rather rough affair for a “friendly” event, with resulting damage forcing a reshuffle to the programme, to allow time to repair cars before the next Teams race. The first Teams race saw the HB Hawkeyes 8B Clayton Hagen take the race win, with blockers 29B Matt Demanser, 52B Kairyn O’Brien and 84B Mike McLachlan taking care of business. 89W Dale Robertson suffered side rail damage, which required removal of bent steel and a replacement side rail welded on – a busy crew in the pits. 46W Ethan Levien was out for the night with diff problems.
The second Teams race resulted in a good win to first time Hawkeye 166B Hayden Hart who kept his foot down to avoid the blocking Wildcats tactics all the way to the flag. Again, 52B Kairyn O’Brien and 84B Mike McLachlan did sterling work in blocking mode. Regan appeared to approve of son Kairyn’s blocking efforts.
The two all-in races were won by a rampant 87B Thomas Stanaway, who was being rested from Hawkeye duties to give the new boys Matt Demanser and Hayden Hart a taste of Teams’ racing.
Stanaway also set the fastest lap times of 18.13 seconds in Race 1, and 17.99 seconds in race 2. Stanaway’s two wins now take him to one point behind 46B Quinn Ryan’s 61 for Overall Club points.
Thanks to the Wellington Wildcats for travelling to Meeanee and helping boost the ranks of cars to 17 for the night: 5W Keegan Levien, 46W Ethan Levien, 52W Paul Fairbrother, 88W Josh Kahui, 89W Dale Robertson and 321W Hilton Parker, plus 51R Sam Guise – here trying out his new
